Monday…we meet again! Today’s blog post is dedicated to all the girls who wake up, look at their closet and say I have nothing to wear, then proceed to try on 4 to 5 things before putting on that same outfit they wore 2 weeks ago. I feel the same way on a regular basis. The mornings I have something new to wear, I get ready so quickly but once nothing has a tag on it I immediately feel like I have nothing to wear. I know it is way more exciting to always have something “new” to wear each day, but what if I told you how easy it was to take pieces you already own and make them into “new” outfits. In today’s post, I am showing you how I take this simple LBD and give it a whole new look. Part 2 will be live on Wednesday morning with another way I styled this same dress for a completely different look!
I work in a corporate office and although our attire is business casual, you definitely don’t want to be the girl that looks like she just rolled out of bed. Many of the pieces I own are pretty simple, I find that simple or basic closet staples are the easiest to transition from day to night. For today’s blog post I decided to wear a long sleeve sweater dress (I wear way too much). This is a great piece because I can add different shoes or jewelry to dress it up or down giving it a whole new look.

But as I stand in my closet, I look at the shelves reaching for the most common Fall item, a chunky sweater. I hate being cold, and now that winter has hit Atlanta (dramatic) the idea of being cold terrifies me, so why not layer my chunky cowl neck sweater over the dress? Voila..a whole new look. This sweater is slightly cropped and didn’t hug the way I wanted so I knotted it up a little to make it more flattering. This look is so effortless and all both pieces I already owned! Think of how many different sweaters and dresses I could style this same way in both solids and prints. An easy outfit transformation!
Because it is Atlanta, and I would be freezing in the morning and sweating by night, I decided to pair this outfit with my favorite sock booties! If you haven’t bought a pair, these are the ones you need. The price is UNBELIEVABLE! I love that they have a cute little bow detail on the back but zip up the side for ease. Once it gets chillier I can pair with OTK boots too!
Unfortunately, this exact sweater is old so I have linked similar (affordable) styles as well as other dress options below.
