Have you heard?
The Sephora VIB sale happens twice a year, so it’s important to strategically shop it when it comes. I always wait for this sale to buy not only my normal everyday makeup but also items I have been wanting to try! It is also perfect to knock out gifts for family and friends because these items are NEVER on sale. I am all for saving a penny so even if I am dishing out more money now, I won’t have to pay full price later. Plus if you have never heard of cashback sites/apps like Ebates, you can save even more money! I will get into that in a minute. This time around, I am investing in items I have been wanting to try! Please note, that I am in no way a beauty expert or make-up artist, these are just products I use and enjoy! See below for all the details:
I haven’t hit VIB Rouge status yet, so the VIB sale hasn’t unlocked for me. No worries though, because on Friday the sale opens up and you can use the below codes. Luckily (or unluckily for my wallet), I am a VIB so I will get an extra 5% off! You can use the code as many times as you want within the date range, so you can spread out your purchases a little 🙂 To make it simple I put the dates and codes below you can shop the sale:
– November 3rd-6th VIB Rouge with code 20FORROUGE
– November 10th-15th VIB with code 20FORVIB
– November 10th-15th Beauty Insider with code INSIDER15
Now, I am going to introduce you to Ebates. It is a website and app that gives you cash back on your purchases if you shop and checkout via their site. I always do my normal shopping online (browse and add to cart, head to the checkout) then go to Ebates – that way all I have to do is check out. The cash back varies by stores and some even let you get cash back by linking your credit card and shopping in stores! You will get $10 if you join through my referral: https://www.ebates.com/r/MADISO3556?eeid=28187
Right now Sephora is at 2.5% Cash Back so you will get 2.5% of what you spent back to you in form of check or PayPal! $$$ back in your pocket!
Now let’s get to the good stuff: what is in my cart? I am going to break it down by category:
Face (Foundation + Concealer)
My go-to Foundation is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup, it is full coverage and lasts ALL day! When I don’t need full coverage, I use IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+. Both of these items are online-only. The last foundation, that I have been dying to try, is the Giorgio Armani Beauty Power Fabric Longwear High Cover Foundation SPF 25. The price is pretty steep for a foundation, but that is why this sale is so helpful! My ride-or-die concealer is the Tarte Shape Tape. I actually use a shade lighter than my foundation to brighten the under-eye area! Another great concealer with amazing reviews is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which comes in a ton of shades. Last is the beauty blender, I use this to apply my makeup, so I always stock up when I can get them on sale!
Eyes (Shadows + Mascara)
For my everyday eye-shadow, I use the Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette, but after a year I have started to hit pan on most of the colors. I love this palette because of the mauve/red tones included which is why I am so excited about the new Tarte Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette. It has many of the same shades as the In Bloom Palette but has been updated! So for this item, instead of buying the one I have been using, I am going to try out the new one! For mascara, I have multiple ones that I LOVE! For everyday, I load up on the L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara (no this is not a Sephora item). It is a great dupe to the Better than Sex Mascara that I will splurge on while it is on sale. I use the higher priced mascaras more sparingly when I have an event to attend or a big shoot! I always use the L’Oreal primer, no matter which price point mascara I am using! My real splurge mascara is the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara which is the highest price point, but really one coat of this is all you need to get full, dramatic lashes! Lastly, is the Make Up Forever Eye Liner, I use this in my water-line and it lasts all day. I love using a pencil opposed to automatic because to me it goes on smoother and this is a winner in my book!
Cheek ( Blush + Bronzer + Highlight + Setting Powder)
All of these are products I always have stocked in my makeup bag. I cannot live without the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, I have tried others as well as the dupes but none of them ever compare. I also love the Kat Von D Palette for contour as well as setting my undereye and adding color to my neck. All of these highlights give a beautiful shine to the face, and depending on the season, determines which shade I choose. Blush is something that I do not use often, but I have found that this Urban Decay blush really does last all day, which is amazing to not have to re-apply.
Before & After (Primer + Setting Powder)
I haven’t explored many primers, mainly due to that fact that these two are my absolute favorites! Both give me different results and depending on the season is how I use them. My everyday winter primer is the First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer because it moisturizers and primes. It is perfect for sensitive skin but it does have a pretty strong coconut smell. I honestly LOVE all of their products and will probably pick up some others during this sale. The other primer, Becca First Light Filter Face Primer, does all the amazing things the box says it does and leaves your skin silky smooth to layer on your makeup. You will need to use moisturizer under if you have dry skin but a little goes a long way! Last is this setting powder, my ride-or-die product- I believe this is why my makeup really does last ALL day. If there is one item that you need in your cart during the sale, it is that one!
Hair (Dry Shampoo + Tools)
It is hard to pick just one dry shampoo because they all give me the results I want. I shower everyday, sometime twice a day, which is really bad for your hair. It strips the natural oils it needs, so lately I have been trying to go a day or two and adding in Dry Shampoo before bed to let it soak overnight, making me feel cleaner in the morning! I also love the scent of these three. Nobody will know if you have not washed your hair in 3 days! I picked up these hair “ties” a few weeks ago, and was very impressed! They don’t leave a crease in your hair and they hold up in my thick hair. Last is a SPLURGE item, like really splurge, but now is a good time to purchase! The T3 Whirl Trio Interchangable wand has quite the price tag on it, but I have been using it for a few weeks now and it is solely the reason my curls can last multiple days (and saving time is almost as good as saving money). Plus, this rarely goes on sale so that 20% off plus Ebates cash-back will make it worth the investment (and it is like you got 3 wands).
Gifts for Her (Mom + Sister + Friends)
These next products are things that I love for myself so grab one for yourself and a friend! They are great gift items, and reasonably priced!
I hope you all enjoyed this post! I just want to reiterate I am no beauty expert, but these products work for me, and I hope everyone takes advantage of this sale! Comment below with any questions!
